About Therapy

Welcome - You made it

Hi, I’m Amy Camp Ryan, a licensed professional counselor in Missouri with over 20 years of experience. Whether it’s your first time in therapy or your fifth, taking that first step is a big deal—and I’m so glad you’re here.

Even with doubts in your mind—“Will therapy help?” “Do I really need this?” “Will we be a good fit?”—you showed up. You found yourself outside Suite 208. Do you knock? Do you go in?

You remember—you’re in the right place. So you walk in.

What It’s Like to Work With Me.

In the waiting room, you find a brightly colored chair, the gentle sound of music, and a bubbling fish tank. (Yep—it’s a therapist’s office 😊.) I step out to greet you with a smile and guide you in.

My office is calm and cozy: there’s a soft couch, a textured throw blanket, pillows, bookshelves full of therapy reads, and the classic license and diploma on the wall.

You settle in. I ask what brought you in today. You’re still hesitant—but soon, you notice how natural it feels to talk. You feel seen, heard, and a little lighter by the end of the session.

Therapy that helps you set boundaries and reduce guilt

What I Believe.

Therapy is an act of courage and self-care.

  • You don’t have to be perfect to be lovable.

  • Mindfulness is a powerful tool for managing anxiety and reclaiming joy.

  • Healing happens in safe, supportive relationships.

Whether you’re navigating perfectionism, anxiety, panic, OCD, ADHD, or just feeling stuck, this is a space where you can show up exactly as you are. We’ll work together to create more ease, balance, and meaning in your life.

Let’s begin your journey toward more calm and connection.

Living Mindfully, Together

Helping others live more mindfully — with greater clarity, calm, and connection — is my mission.

I’ve been a licensed counselor in Missouri since 2004 (yes, that surprises me too!). Over the years, I’ve gathered a toolbox full of strategies to support my clients — but mindfulness? That one’s a game-changer. I use it in my personal life and witness its power in the lives of the women and LGBTQ+ adults I work with every day.

In our sessions, we’ll explore the thoughts, patterns, and beliefs that are shaping your anxiety, sadness, anger, or stress. Together, we’ll build healthier routines, untangle inner critics, and learn how to respond — not just react — to life’s challenges. Sometimes we’ll find solutions. Other times, we’ll learn to accept what we can’t control (yep, that one’s hard — I get it).

Therapy with me isn’t one-size-fits-all. Your story is uniquely yours, and your path to healing should be too. Wherever our conversations take us, you can trust that I’ll be right there with you — compassionate, engaged, and all-in.

I Practice What I Preach

LGBTQ+ affirming therapy in Missouri for women and adults with anxiety

Mindfulness isn’t just something I recommend — it’s something I live.

Whether I’m cooking dinner with Dave Matthews playing in the background (hello, garlic, butter, and onions!), walking under morning sunbeams, or soaking up hugs from my tween son, I work to be present — even when life is full and messy.

Because presence is how we connect to ourselves and the people we love. It’s how we create meaning. And it’s how I’ll show up for you — fully, attentively, and with curiosity. I want to be present with my husband, family, and friends as we create and preserve memories – just as I want to be present with you.

You’re Ready. And I’m Ready Too.

You’re ready to make changes.
To feel less overwhelmed.
To understand yourself better.
To feel seen, heard, and supported.

And I’m right here, ready for all of it.

Let’s begin this together — schedule your free discovery call today.
