Frequently

asked

questions.

  • New clients begin with a discovery call. This call is an excellent opportunity to hear my voice and ask questions directly. I find that chatting on the phone helps determine a level of comfort. To schedule the discovery call, click on this link and complete a simple form.

  • If we are a good fit, we will move forward on your wellness journey. You will receive an email from me that “Welcomes” you and explains the following steps, including a portal that holds your information and access to my calendar for scheduling appointments. We can also set up appointments in session too.

  • My sessions are 50 minutes to one hour.

  • I accept credit cards, HSA cards, checks, and cash.

  • The simple answer is “no.”

I am not an in-network provider for insurance companies. My invoices contain the necessary information so you can file for out-of-network benefits. Many clients use their Health Savings Accounts to pay for services.

  • Yes, I do. Thank you for asking. I ask that you give 24 hours’ notice if you cancel or reschedule your appointment. There is a $90 fee if you fail to provide a 24-hour notice.

  • I work with teenagers, college students, and adults, starting at age 14. I typically work with young women and women in general. That does not mean I am not open to working with men, but it depends on individual struggles and comfort levels.

I am a therapist who supports diversity and inclusion, including all body sizes, abilities, races, sexualities, genders, and religions.

However, as an individual therapist, I only work with individuals and not with couples or families.

  • I use a foundation of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, meaning we discuss beliefs, thoughts, behaviors, and emotions, and we examine connections between each of these. I incorporate mindfulness as an approach to life and to help manage emotional responses to stress.

  • BOTH! Yes, I do offer virtual sessions. I have learned and think we all have discovered the benefits of working virtually. So, if it makes it easier for you to meet virtually rather than in person, we can schedule online sessions.

Yes, I do offer in-person sessions. If you want to meet in person, I provide in-office sessions three days a week.

  • My office is in Woodbine Center in Kirkwood, MO. You can park in the front of the building or the back. The back lot is more accessible, especially if you can’t do stairs. I share a suite with seven other therapists. When you arrive for your visit, please come on in.

There is no need to knock. Our waiting room offers comfy chairs, water, coffee, and tea.

You may find chocolate hidden in our candy bowl if you’re lucky. I will come out to greet you when it’s our time to meet.

  • When we connect virtually, you will use the Zoom link attached to your appointment confirmation. When it is time for us to meet, I will “admit” you into the session. Please remember to check your speakers and camera when entering the session.
